Does BEK perform the water mitigation and drying?

No. BEK is a general contractor. We secure the building and stabilize the structure, and we handle every part of the rebuild. Extraction, drying and remediation belong to a mitigation company, and we work alongside them rather than claiming their work.

Can BEK work directly with my insurance carrier?

Yes. We document the damage with photographs, work from an Xactimate scope where one has been written, and put change orders in writing so the file stays clean.

What should I do before you arrive?

Get everyone out and safe, shut off utilities if it is safe to do so, and photograph what you can from a safe distance. Do not throw anything away — the adjuster will want to see it.

Do you handle commercial emergencies?

Yes. Commercial buildings, schools and facilities are a large part of this work, including phasing so the parts of the building that are usable stay open.

BEK is a licensed General B contractor, not a mitigation company. We board up, tarp, stabilize and rebuild. Water extraction, drying and remediation are a mitigation contractor’s work, and if you do not have one we will tell you who to call. Saying that plainly is worth more to you at two in the morning than a longer list of services.
